About

Akanne Media is the cultural media arm of Akanne Group — a Nigerian organization built around community, heritage, and human development. Alongside Akanne Care, Akanne Agro, and Akanne Academy, we are part of a shared mission to uplift and serve the Igbo people in every dimension of life — from health and education, to food security, to the preservation of our cultural identity.

At Akanne Media, our work is simple and deliberate: we document, celebrate, and share the stories, language, and traditions of the Igbo people — using modern media and digital technology to ensure that what our ancestors built is never forgotten.

What We Do

We create digital resources and cultural content that connect Igbo people — at home and in the diaspora — with their roots. From the interactive Igbo Calendar and Festivals Timeline, to our growing Igbo Lexicon, to documentary storytelling and innovation narratives, everything we publish is built with one purpose — to make Igbo culture accessible, beautiful, and alive for the next generation.

Why It Matters

Cultures fade slowly — one word forgotten, one festival left uncelebrated, one story untold. Akanne Media exists to interrupt that silence. Because a people who know their history, speak their language, and honour their traditions are a people who cannot easily be erased.
